trees on development sites – assessment for design purposes

Trees are a material consideration in the Planning process. Trees covered by Tree Preservation Orders,
or located in Conservation Areas, have special status.

Sites under consideration for development already benefitting from significant tree presence are, without question, enhanced by its preservation. Trees provide setting, a sense of place, a sense of connection with the past, valuable natural amenity, privacy, shelter and enjoyment.

Decision-making relative to removals, retentions, possible remedial works and future tree management
requires a multi-party approach. This can present challenges, but is always worthwhile.

treeplanning has earned a reputation for effective navigation of the Planning environment, and is committed to serving the interests of developers, large and small.
